Fast draw of floor plans

I have a job coming up that I will be doing with PPage. Straightforward text
mostly. But I will also have to reproduce a number of floor plans of model
suites. The source material for these will be varied, from professional printed
stuff, to hand-drawn sketches.
I had initially thought of scanning and tracing them in PDraw. But does anyone
have any advice about the relative merits of a CAD package for this type of
thing? I wondered if maybe this type of software would speed of the creation of
these drawings.

I am not an expert at this sort of thing but I would advise that
you stick to your plan of using ProDraw or just scanning them straight
in..
I have been using XCAD 3000 for a while now, and unless your floor plans
have to be to scale there is no need to get involved in CAD. IMHO CAD is
not a fast way of creating drawings, just an accurate one.
Most CAD software I have seen operating has quite learning curve too
;-).

I have used PDraw to draw up a set of floor plans from a hand
sketch ok. It was for a Barn/Accomodation. I could Email the file
(compressed with LHZ) if you like.
They were for a submission to the local council. Worked OK.

Haven't tried it but Gramma have a program called FLO which is specific
for floor plans and budget priced.
