#Panasonic KXP2123 BUG??

Hi – I've just purchased an new Panasonic KXP2123 printer with colour
option and seem to be having a problem with the SKIP PERFORATION function.
I can set up the INITIAL SETUP MODE SETTINGS (replacement for the old DIP
switches) to show that the SKIP PERFORATION is ON. But when I try printing
it just prints right over the perforation. I can activated the Skip
perforation with a software command and then it works just fine??
The initial Setup Mode settings have a default form length of 11 inches
so the Skip perf should default to ON at first power up.
Perhaps I am not understanding the manual correctly; but I suspect a bug
in the Printer.
Any help from Panasonic KX-P2123 owners would be greatly appreciated.
I'd more than likely guess that the printer driver is
resetting the printer before it starts printing. Try setting up your
printer via it's setup, and then copy a file to it by going to PAR:
(directly to the parallel port) rather than via PRT: (the printer
driver).

Thanks for the reply. I have tried doing a Copy <filename> PAR: and
also powering the printer down after I have printed something to the
printer for the first time (so Printer driver has already sent it's
Initialization stuff) and it still doesn't work.
Because of where I live I had to have the printer shipped to me so it
is a little inconvenient for me to check out another printer to see if the'
problem is just mine or all of the KXP2123's. I have a couple of people
looking into it BUT was just curious wether anyone else had run into the
same problem. I guess most people let their Word Processor pgms worry
about the Skip over Perforation stuff. I have a few applications where it
is just handier to have the printer do that Automatically for you.
A tech I was talking to said he has seen it where there have been
bugs in a printer's ROM and some of the features referred to in the manual
have not worked.
I guess that's what I get for buying a new Model and not sticking
with a tried and proven one. Thanks again for your suggestions.
