Is there a way to match up the black levels between the Preview and Program
buses on the Toaster? The problem is that if I cut from the identical graphic
on DV1 to DV2, there is a slight difference. This is a problem when I'm doing
a re-edit and trying to match up. I'm using an A2000 with the Toaster 2000 and
3.1 software, although the 3.0 software did it too. (Actually, I don't think
the software is the problem.)
Any suggestions?

We at PreVue Technologies have worked out a "field mod" (OK, it's a
hack) that will balance DV1 and DV2 to each other. It does require someone
skilled in the electronic arts and it does mean you are modifying your Video
Toaster. Basically, the mod calls for biasing DV2 levels up or down slightly
to match DV1. It only takes one resistor to do the trick. E-mail to me
directly if you want the directions (a two-pager ap note).
