#Render RES switching
4 messages in this thread
I forgot to add this to my earlier request for help concerning the PAR in
the Hware/OpSys/Video section under" PAR\TARGA NTSC Distortion" but I think
this one is more of a 3DS3 situation so I'm sending it here.
We have the render resolution set in 3DS3 to 752×480, aspect at 0.83. When
we render to the PAR drive the rendering resolution changes right before our
eyes to 640×480 aspect.83. The PAR manual says that we will experience the
black lines at the edge of the screen if we don't render at 752. If we can get
this to stay at 752 it may solve the previously mentioned problem. I just
checked and it does this change no matter what the rendered image destination
is so it isn't a PAR problem. Weather I set the res manually, use the 752×480
button or just leave it to default, which is set for 752×480 aspect .83 it
still changes to 640×480 .83 aspect.
How come the rendering res changes automatically to 640 at rendering rather
than stays at our default of 752? We are a Autodesk Multimedia Dealer and are
usually able to figure these things out. Not this time however. Help!
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you need to either render to a NULL display, or make sure
that the NO DISPLAY button is highlighted, or your render will be squeezed into
the render display size you have set in you 3ds.set, and ignore the present
setting.

Thank You David. Rendering to NULL did the trick. It took care of
the problem I posted to the Hware\Opsys\Video section also. We
design and install CATV systems and have run into some pretty strange
magnetic induction effects and I was hoping that this wasn't one of
them. (See-PAR,TARGA NTSC Distortion in the Hware\OpSys\Video
section.)
Your welcome. I hadn't a clue about your first problem, but I'm glad
both were solved in one shot.
