I am in the market for entry level editing controller for a Sony TR-700 Hi 8
camcorder. Would it be possible to get a copy of the book "Desk Top Video
Handbook?".
Thanks
Stan

Have you considered the Videonics "Thumbs Up"? It's pretty entry level (cuts
only), but it's also cheap (under $200 at your local Radio Shack) and fairly
accurate according to VIDEO Magazine's Technical Editor Lance Braithwaite
(Lance is a big fan of the "Thumbs Up"). If you want a version for your
computer, try Gold Disk's Video Director (also around $200). The PC version
will run on a 386 Windows computer and it also does "cuts only" and is fairly
accurate.
Hope this helps,

VideoDirector sells for about $100. And has a suprising lot of capability.

Really? It's down that low? I thought the street price was still around
$200–which is STILL a bargain, given what it's capable of…
Best,
Tim
Stan,
I recommend you get the Gold Disk Video Director. It is currently on sale for
$100. I can think of no better bargain in all off video editing. We also have
the AVer overlay cards which can work with VD 2,0 and provide you with
superimposed titles and transitions.
To get a FREE copy of "THe Desk Top Video Handbook" just email your mailing
address. This free offer is available to all C-Serve members.
Happy videomaking,
