Great Job with the new version of Exploder! I hope that others follow and "plugins" for trueSpace become a reality! I've been experimenting for several hours and am having great fun (I'll definatley send a check this week). One question though… I can't quite understand what I'm doing when using the "particles" options. I viewed the Help section but still don't get it! Could you respond with a brief synopsis of what that option actually does? Thanks… Keep up the good work.(: Art Jones

Hi Art. Thanks for your interest in Exploder. >>Could you respond with a brief synopsis of what that option (particles) actually does?<< When you enable particles, Exploder allows you to load additional objects, and will place a copy of these objects at each vertex of your model that you are exploding (or at the center, depending on the option you select). The idea behind this basic particle implementaion in Exploder is to allow the user to create a complex 'explosion' with a minimum of effort. Also you can create the effect of an object exploding into solid chunks, etc, etc… really cool with Gravity enabled. The best way to get a feel for it is to create a few animations using _simple_ objects (like cubes) and then you'll be able to see what is going on… Hope this helps, Rob

I want to thank you for your program, it is a great utility. Since this is shareware and you probably did this on your spare time I do not expect major enhancements to your next upgrade. But I would like to suggest that maybe you could design "Explode" with the option to break up an object into solid chunks instead of exploding the surface of a hollow object. I wish you well on your next project and hope your utility expands to include other special effects . Maybe it will turn into a comercial success for you (I definetly would pay more with a couple of extra functions included.)

>> But I would like to suggest that maybe you could design "Explode" with the option to break up an object into solid chunks instead of exploding the surface of a hollow object.<< All objects in trueSpace are 'hollow', but you can load some 'solid' chunks as particles into Exploder, initially position them at the center of the Exploding object, then scale the Exploded object fragments (the 'surface') down to 0.0001 in 10-20 frames or so which will leave only the particle fragments visible…vary the size of the solid chunk particles (using "Random Scale") and you should get the effect you are looking for…. Thanks, Rob

I downloaded Exploder but every time I try to load a object file it says it can only read version 1.xx .COB files. As I have Truespace 1.02 what am I doing wrong ? Thanks, Joni

The Exploder routine of Rob's can only read in .cob's that are saved in ASCII format (there's a check box when you do a Save Object.) Make sure you're doing that..
