Ok, here is my question. You are in the keyframer, you import a path for the camera to follow, you make a dummy object and assign it to the path. Now you link the camera target and the camera to the dummy. Now you set up 'Follow' so that the camera will bank to follow the path. My only problem is that I know want to modify the path that the camera is following (not the target) slightly because the one that was generated is to spastic at the beginning. It doesn't seem as though I can delete any of the control point on the path for the camera, or smooth out the path. Any suggestions? By the way, my last question on the computer re-booting because of deleting instances was because I had SmartDrive loaded. When I took that out it solved the problem.

It's interesting to hear that SmartDrive was causing such havoc. I'm glad you figured _that_ out. Regarding your path question… I'm unclear why you mentioned that you couldn't delete control points on the camera path… Have you found the Paths branch in the Keyframer? It allows you to delete keys, move them in time, change eases dynamically, etc. These tools make it ridiculously easy to create extremely smooth paths. Remember… the fewer control points along your path, the smoother it will be. Try it!

Yes I am aware of the Path thingy – the problem arises from the fact that the Camera is a linked object to a dummy that is following the path. Also the camera has been adjusted so that the point of view also follows the path. What I had happen is that when I showed the path for the camera I was unable to do anything with the control points, I don't know if strictly speaking that the camera path is a legitimate path or what. Does that explain it better?

When you linked the camera to the dummy object, you slaved the camera to the dummy's path. Therefore, if you want to alter the path of the camera, you have to do it by editing the dummy object's path. Are you having a problem with that? – G

Well since there isn't a one to one correspondence with the say it is reacting ( at least in this case), I was hoping I could modify the path of the camera. I found that this wasn't true and I have altered the dummy's path and that helped a lot, didn't give me quite what I needed, but oh well. Thanks for th info.

The camera can have it's own keyframes relative to the master dummy object. You could use this to move the camera independent of the master while still "following" the master.

I have no idea how this will turn out, but it _should_ work, so… Try copying the dummy's tracks to the camera (relative, of course). Now, your camera should have its very own set of editable keys. – Jack
