I'm looking for some help. I want to get started in the world of 3D/Rendering, but don't know which of the many programs to buy. My main usage will be for mechanical objects, eg. bicycle frames, engine components. O am wondering about Real3D. Is this a good choice. Also, is it easier to draw within the 3D program, or to buy DynaCadd or XCadd 3000? I use a mainframe Cad system at work, so am not intimmidated by Cad programs. Thanks in advance for any help. David, I have Real 3D 2.0 and think it is an awesome program, but it may not be the best choice for a user new to 3D work. Real 3D 'Classic' as the old version (1.4.2) is now called is a good choice and a lot cheaper than 2.0. I used it to do a lot of mechanical objects (jet engine components) and it works great for this (especially the Boolean operations). It can import clips from Pro Draw which is a good 2D structured drawing program. However, Imagine is the program of choice for most Amiga users and this is an excellent program. Others can tell you more about Imagine. You might have an easier time using a CAD program to draw the objects but you have to check what 3D object formats it can output to. Hope this helps some. John

For doing Technical Drawing type work, yer probably MUCH better off with DynaCadd.
