I have a small problem with phonepak. Equipment is a standard A2000-6MB ram- I have used phone pak for over a year and a half and I have been very pleased. Problem is with the new Rev. 2 feature that lists the mail box and the number ber of new, unread messages. One of the mail boxes lists 1 new message up in the lineman window, when in fact there are not any messages, new or otherwise in that mailbox. How can I convince lineman of that fact? I have looked in various system files for something to delete, but no success. Can anyone help?? Thanks…………..

Paul, Lineman will list ANY file that has not been addressed within PhonePak, INCLUDING the greeting messages and created faxes. Try this: 1. Run PhonePak. 2. Turn on the SHOW SYSTEM FILES and save the preferences. 3. Quit PhonePak. 4. Double-Click on the mailbox with the phantom message. PhonePak will now start up and the file will be highlighted, ready to be reviewed. Play the message and the "1" will go away. This can happen if you MOVE or COPY a file to another mailbox as well. Thanks so much. Yep, it was a system file. Small problem, but the kind that drives you nuts. Thanks again.

If LineMan says there's new messages, then there probably are. I'll bet that the reason you can't see it is because it's a system file. Select Mailbox/Filter/Show System Files from the menu bar, then click on the New button. If a new file shows up, hold the Alt key down and click the New button again. Select the "Make Old" option from the requester that appears, and voila! Your problem is fixed.

Thanks for the reply. Both you and GVP had the problem nailed. It's funny how a person gets in a rut and doesn't see the answer right in front of them. Thanks again.
