I am having problems trying to create a realistic mirror using 3D Studio. Any mirror that I create, appears 'foggy' or dull and without shine. What can I do? Any experts out there?! Thanks

Wes – I released your library file with the foggy mirror so members will have something to look at showing your problem. Anne

>> Any mirror that I create, appears 'foggy' or dull and without shine. << The most important things for good mirrors are a very dark or black ambient color and a fairly steep and large shininess curve. I typically use Shininess = 80+ and Shininess Strength = 100. Check the values for typical glass materials in the 3ds.mli. Also, make sure you are squared away on the differences between flat mirror vs. regular auto-reflection. If using flat mirror or cubic (.cub) refmapping, you can choose the size of the map. Might give you a crisper reflection by bumping up the size of the map. Paul S.
