Ray, I don't think it is fair to base a companies reputation on the attitude of one individual. I haven't had any luck with Chris and, even if he does go to out in the field a lot, I'm surprised there isn't someone to take over his function while he's gone. Despite this, in all other respects, I have found Autodesk to be a progressive and enjoyable company to deal with. Once you've got over your annoyance at Chris' response you'll probably realize that 3ds2.0 wins out over Topaz (any version) especially when it comes to cost/performance. Martin

You know Martin, I almost lost my HEAD over Chris's slow response. Between April 1st and Last week I had to call EVERY week to ask them where our AniPro FLC libraries where. Every week I got a different answer. My employer got so frusterated that he had one of our programmers write our _own_ animation playback routine. All of this gives me a "very bad feeling" about the coming IPAS SDK… -MM

Mike, Yes, I hope they (Adesk) can get their act together over the multimedia developer support problem since I want to become a developer. I wasn't quite as persisent as you in my calls – I foolishly thought it would be sufficient to leave voice mail 3 times (what a dope I was! <g>) Martin

Boy! I can't tell you how much voice mail I left! I almost got to the point of programming my phone with Chris' number! (As if I _knew_ how to program my phone…All I know is that somehow I got the Tech Support number for Sound Blaster programmed into #1. So everytime I try to dial a long dist Number and forget to choose an outside line first, I get this "Welcome to Brown-Wagh! For Tech Support press…". But thats another story…) Yep, I hope they get their act together for IPAS. BTW did I get the impression from Gary that you were lucky enough to get to work on the IPAS docs? Or was that another "Martin". -MM

Mike, Mistaken identity again. That Martin was probably Martin Doudoroff. I think you have to reach "super-genius" level, at least, before being admitted to the Yost Group <g>. Martin

Martin, thanks for the tip. When an individual is a companies contact point to the "outside world" for any reason, that individual IS the company in the eyes of the customer… I hope Autodesk realizes that. Ray
