Supra/Quantum/SeaGate

I'm trying to add a SeaGate ST3390N HD to my Amiga 2000. I currently have a
Supra setup (SUPRA SCSI board and Quantum 40S HD) and cannot for the life of
me, get the SeaGate to go. I've followed the manual (which speaks STRICTLY to
IBM users –thanks a lot!) and removed the Quantum's terminating resistors, and
set the jumpers (2&4) on the SeaGate to no avail. I'm thinking there must be
another jumper to set onthe Supra end, but my manuals are currently in
California, due to a move that fell through…an I'm waiting for their return.
Does anyone have experience? If so, please leave mail, or call me voice at

What version of the Supra software are you using (hopefully 3.8b)..Will this be
the only drive on the controller or is it a second drive? The Seagate should
be terminated and if it is not mounted on the end of the card the controller
will need a terminater as well…As for IBM docs..??? Supra never made a hard
drive for the IBM, so I'm not sure what you are referring to.

I have an old Seagate hooked up to my A2091 with Quantum and it was just
very, very slow to boot. So much so that it wouldn't be recognized on
initial bootup, since the controller polling it would find nothing. A warm
reboot always discovered it. You could try running SCSIMounter (on the
libs here) to get info on the new Seagate, such as its unit number. You
can't have it set to Unit 7, by the way. If that's the problem I am not
sure how you go about changing the Unit I.D. on the drive itself; there's
probably a jumper.
