ProWrite 2.5 with Oki 92
4 messages in this thread
I received the ProWrite 2.5 upgrade today, and am having trouble with my
printer doing the pictures with Draft or NLQ. In Standard mode the picture
looks fine, but in Draft or NLQ the pictures have noticably large gaps in them,
like the paper is advancing too far. Like I said, Standard mode pictures look
fine. (I have an Okidata 92, I am running all 1.3, with the real released 1.3
printer device and printer driver). Is there something I can do to fix this?
Thanks for you help. This feature was the main reason I went for the upgrade.

Mike,
Without seeing an example of the output I can't be positive but I suspect that
the effect is being caused by the limitation of the Okidata 92 to 7/72 inch
linefeeds in its graphics mode. This limitation makes it imposible for ProWrite
to match the graphic position with the text position leaving the gaps you
describe.
If you could send me an example printout I can give you a more difinitive
answer but I doubt that there is a solution for your printer.

I will send the sample printout, but I would like to also mention that I hacked
up a program to get rid of all the switching between text and graphics modes,
assuming that that was the problem, and the gaps are still there. Like I said,
in standard mode the graphics look fine. It would have been nice if you had
mentioned something in the announcment of the upgrade that that feature might
not work with some printers.
To anyone else reading this: does the mixed graphics and NLQ text work on your
printer?
Thanks for the reply. Mike
