But people also expect to be able to pick up a package and find out exactly
what it does. You can't tell what Notebook does by the packaging.
A simple insert on the back of the existing packaging describing what the
product is all about can NOT hurt anyone, especially if it's paper. I
don't mind the lack of flashy packaging but I DO want to know what the
contents of the package does.

…there is also a reasonably detailed features list (18 detailed points))
on the same sheet. So let's quit harping on NoteBooks packaging, saying
thigs like "You can't tell what NoteBook does by the packaging", because
you can, unless you are learning disabled, which would be unfortunate but
not particularly relevant to our mass marketing approach, eh?
Beyond this description, it's hard to compare notebook to anything, since
it is one of the few unique products in the Amiga marketplace. That is
part of the "problem".

I have to agree with you, Ben, that the Notebook packaging IS pretty clear
in describing what the program is/does.
IMHO I would say that the Notebook packaging does its job quite well
without being extravagant about wasted materials.

It never ceases to amaze me, but i haven't made *any* comments regarding
not including product description on software packaging. I don't know
where you picked that up.
A simplie insert on the back of the existing packaging is quite a good
idea, maybe BBS will do that with their next batch of Notebooks!
