I always get confused about Autodesk's definitition of 'quarters'.
What does " …will start shipping in the third quarter of 1993" mean?
between 1st July and September 30th? … or does Autodesk have different
'quarters'?
also what constitutes 'shipping' in Autodesk terms, shipping to developers? to
dealers? or to end users?
finally … I am based in the United Kingdom. I know that your press
releases apply *only* to North America. No announcement has been made
here in the UK yet. Based on past experience of Autodesk releases
here, I would guess shipping in the UK will follow about 6 weeks
after *actual* shipping to end users in North America. Would that be
a good basis for guessing shipping date here in the UK this time?
Hi Andrew – Autodesk's splits up the fiscal year into the following quarters:
Q1 February 1 – April 30
Q2 May 1 – July 31
Q3 August 1 – October 31
Q4 November 1 – January 31
Shipping means shipping to customers! I know we try our best to ship product
outside of the US as soon after US shipment as possible. We're trying to make
the localization process faster. I would check with the UK office on
timeframes, because there probably isn't an accurate average of time that I can
