Does anyone know of a problem with using TRANSPARENCY FALLOFF and a reflection map? We have a client that is having a few stange things happen. He has a material in the mat. editor that only has a refl. map (earthmap.tga) and has transparency falloff at 100% inside. It renders fine in the mat. editor (falls off properly), but when applied to a simple sphere in the 3d editor it renders just like there were no falloff – ie. just the reflection map shows. He says that it also does this with a material that has texture, opac, and bump (no reflection) maps on it. Falloff doesn't work in the editor, but does in the sample render in the material editor. Any ideas?

He probably has reflection set to 100%… and a 100%-reflective object can't be transparent, because it's reflecting all light back to the eyepoint. Just tell him to drop his reflection percentage to 80-90%. – G

Thanks for the help!
