Is there any advantage or disadvantage to creating the geometric primitives in the 3-Editor? I need to create cylinders but I don't need to use any of the special features of the lofter and I was thinking that creating in the editor would be much easier.

Judy, For a simple geometry like a straight cylinder … then there isn't any advantage really to using the lofter. However, if there is a chance that those cylinders need to bend, have beveled ends or maybe lateer you'll want to play with the x-section shape, then these changes are much easier to accomplish in the lofter. Yes, it it easier, and the geometry is very low in vertices/faces. For cylinders you have control over # of sides and segments.
