Sb. 3DStudio Fm:Rudy Mantel 72302,743 To: All I wish to show an accident as follows: A truck is coming down a long hill; looking ahead the road will climbn up another long hill. The driver sees smoke from a grass fire. The truck starts to climb the hill, runs into the (whitish) smoke. Driver loses control and hits a pedestrian. I wish to show this from outside the truck (trailing position) and from driver's view. Any ideas on how to show the smoke ? Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance, Rudy.

Hi Rudy, A quick if not totally realistic way to show a smoke effect would be to use the Atmosphere effect in the Render/Setup command string. This would produce a static, diffused "smoke" effect. If you REALLY want realistic, moving smoke, you could purchase the Yost Group's fine Smoke.sxp from the IPAS boutique. It is included in the Special Effects set of routines. The routine has some limitations (it needs a bounding object), but with a little work you should be able to get a nice effect. It all depends on the level of photo-realism your project calls for. -Alan Iglesias

The Smoke IPAS available in the IPAS boutique from the Yost group will do just what you want. call (800) 368-4727 to order (that's what it says on the brochure). John Tissavary (La Luna cie)
