#Blue Screen, HELP!
5 messages in this thread
Help,
I turn on my Amiga 500 and get a dark blue screen. Does anyone know what
this means and how I can fix it?
Thanks,
Rodger
From a file I have gotten here (CI$) a blue screen means a problem with
the custom chip set ie Agnus, Denise or Paula.

Thanks Steve,
Since they are socketed and the problem occurred when I plugged in a bad
power supply, think I'll try the chip closest to the power supply. Who knows,
maybe I'll get lucky.

Rodger,
the blue (or green) screen means that the ram tests on bootup have failed.
You most likely got a bad ram chip, or some memory accessing circuitry on
your motherboard is defunct.
If you use a memory expansion of some kind, make sure all the chips are
seated correctly in their sockets and the connection of the board is ok.
If this doesn't help, the problem will be very hard to locate. Does the
power led blink while the blue screen ist displayed ?

No blinking occurs. I did just get the machine back from "Global Upgrades" in
New York. Maybe they didn't reconnect my Baseboard. I'll check. Thanks!
