HI. THIS IS MY FIRST ONLINE ATTEMPT – YOU SEEM KNOWLEDGEABLE –READING YOUR
HELPFUL REPLIES TO QUESTIONS, SO I CHOSE YOU, DAVE. I HAVE JUST PURCHASED
ANIMATOR STUDIO, AND FIND THAT NO MATTER WHAT I DO (SO FAR), THE DRAW TOOL
MOVES ONLY IN GRID-LIKE ANGULAR MOVEMENTS. I HAVE WORKED WITH ANIMATOR PRO, AND
LOVE IT — IT TOO DOES THIS AT THE LOWER RESOLUTIONS, BUT AT 640X480, YOU GET
WONDEFUL CONTROL, EVEN WITH JUST A MOUSE. ANY INPUT ABOUT SETTINGS TO MAKE IT
A MORE SATISFACTORY DRAW TOOL? THANKS VERY MUCH – JENNY GLENN

others who use Animator products can also jump in on this. the products are
always evolving, and there is never one way to anything with this stuff, but

mouse control… boy, a whole bunch of ways to affect that. for low resolution
images where the control really gets choppy, one of the oldest tricks i use is
to scale the image up to a higher resolution, do my mouseowkr on it, and then
scale the entire image back to its original resolution. there could be many
reasons why you're getting "chop"… make sure to disable the "snap to grid"
option in the pulldown to see you you're locked to a default grid, check your
windows settings for mouse sensitivities (Control Panel). if you like the
control you get at 640×480, try scaling the image to something larger.

Hi Dave. Thanks for your suggestions; so far, no matter how high the
resolution, I still get those stick-like lines. I played around with the
control panel, and by moving mouse or pen verrrrrrrrrrry slowly, can sort of
make curves in freehand. I am not snapped into a grid setting; I'm going to
try that trick of working at higher resolution in regular Animator Pro – I can
see how that would be helpful.
I think I will put a comment into Animator Studio Bug questions, and see if
they have any suggestions, too. I will relay them to you — who knows, it might
come in handy for something you're doing. Again, thanks for responding — til
