#Prob. Install Ani-Studio
4 messages in this thread
I cannot get Animator Studio to install on a 486/25.
I know that the manual says it does not work with anything less than a 486/66.
I want to install today, ready for delivery of my overdrive chip later in the
week.
When I run setup from the disk, the player installs, and nothing else. Does
Animator Studio check the speed of my computer at installation time?

If you're looking at the installation directions on Page 5, we goofed! You are
accidentally being asked to install just the player. You sound like you have
the CD version, right? Just go File/Run SETUP directly from the CD – don't
use the diskette at all.
No, AAStudio doesn't check out the speed of your computer; it will perform some
things rather slowly and tax your patience!
Check out the Tips and Tricks doc, it will help prepare you for the large swap
file and resources that AAStudio requires.
Finally, make sure to register your product! The folks on this forum have
reported bugs that got fixed in our latest (c1) release. It's our plan to
continue to fix bugs as they're reported, and update registered c0 and c1
customers for free.
Nik,
You are right, I have the CD version.
I will have a go at installation later tonight. I recon that I won't be
worried about lack of speed for a while yet, as I work through the manual and
learn how everything fits together.
My dealer is now prevaricating about which 'overdrive' chip my motherboard will
accept, and which ones it won't. He recons a DX4-100 is the fastest I can use.
That will keep me going I hope, until next spring when I make my next major
upgrade!
Thanks!
Andrew

Great! There is a tutorial on the THEDIVE.BMP, where you use clone ink. If
you have troubles with the settings, let us know. Several people have reported
that clone ink appears not to work. The workaround as far as I can tell is to
bring up the Clone Ink Properties dialog, and in the last section of the dialog
ignore our advice to leave all of them unchecked. I'd check the 2nd or 3rd
(last) of the 3 options.
