#ProPage & Adobe
2 messages in this thread
Hello, all!
I have ProPage by Gold Disk, and I've got some Compugraphic Fonts.
I was commissioned by a co-worker (should be set off by commas, sorry) to
convert the Franklin Gothic Adobe typeface from IBM to Amiga-usable
formats. There's a package out there that helps (PSFont, by Canadian
Software Developers), but it leaves me with bitmapped screen fonts (copied
from existing screen font information.
It is tough to go back to the poor clarity of the Bitmapped screen font
after using the CG scaleable screen fonts. Does anyone know a way of
tapping the CG resources I've already got? Is there a way to use the
metrics from the CG fonts, or something?
The CG fonts and the bitmapped fonts are different enough in conception and
execution that no ready solution simply presents itself. I'd appreciate
any informed guessing (or even good blind guessing, I suppose).
Thanks,
–Paul
Paul,
If you can't find a solution using ProPage, PageStream 2.0 is able to use
IBM Adobe type 1 fonts directly. I have not yet been able to try this
feature out since I don't have access to IBM fonts and I have not been
successful in finding any PD IBM fonts over in the IBM forums.
