Does anyone know if there is a program that I can run a sequence of TGA files done on 3ds2? – (basicly a program like aaplay/aniplay but the capability to display 24bit colour and not 256 shades of colour) Very grateful for any comments.

James, I'll reply again. Search for DV*.ZIP and HC*.ZIP in the what's new section of the library. These are 2 examples which allow you to create a High Color Animation and play it. jonas[adesk]

Sure, but you need special hardware. There's the Abekas A60 series DDR's (D1, $19,000 and up), the DPS PAR (JPEG, $3,000 with HD), and the MAX (not out yet, but around $7000, JPEG). There is no software only tga player. It's not possible to get that much information (720x486x24bit = @ 1.2 meg per frame) off current PC compatible hard disks and through existing PC busses fast enough for real-time playback.
