Corrupted TGA's

Apparent Hardware Problem — Any ideas where I should start??? To "help" <ha> in a major rendering crunch, I brought an additional 486 into my network rendering farm. I've used this particular machine in the past with no problems, but this time nearly every TGA file rendered by this machine is corrupted in one way or another. The rendered files are being saved to a different machine (the 3DS server). If I view the TGA files, portions are shifted left or the image is "jumbled". A few frames are completely unreadable by 3ds. OS = MS-DOS 6.20, RAM = 3MB, Network = Lantastic AI 5.0. I am using Lancache for disk caching on ALL machines. I suspect either a memory addressing conflict -or- a network file transfer problem. Any ideas? (meanwhile, I have the "privilege" of re-rendering 100 frames <arghhhh>) Thanks all. – Dave

Try swapping hd/controller if a memory housekeeping doesn't do the trick… John Tissavary (LUNA cie, inc)

>> hd/controller… Thanks, John. Actually, these files are being saved through the network, so the only way the hd controller could affect them would be through some hardware/bios type conflict. I certainly won't rule it out though. – Dave
