Just goes to show you how goofy we are, after spending all that money on design and 4 color printing, and not permanently afixing it to the binder. Oh Well….. Stan

Off on another subject (kinda')… I'm confused… in Turbo Silver, the 'y' coordinate goes 'in/out' of the screen (depth) and the 'z' coordinate goes 'up/down' (height). I've always heard it the other way around… am I missing something?

Keith – That's perhaps caused the most points of contention about our program since we first introduced it! The truth of the matter is that we are correct…… but so are you!. On an international basis most text and reference materials list the correct coords with "Y" as the depth coordinate. U.S. systems though over the last few years have adopted the "Z" coordinate for depth. All of our products are designed to operate equally on either side on the "pond". The reference books we were using when originally designing Silver were absolutely 50/50 on the coords systems used. So we ended up flipping a coin. So ends the saga of why we are using the "wrong" coords system. (our initial rreference material by the way, were from The University of Minnesota, ACM/SIGGRAPH, IEE Graphics SOciety and others.)

AH… when I first read the manual, I thought it was a typo… but then ther (there) were more and more of these 'typos' and when I finally ran the program (when I got back from vacation) I realized that TS actually used that coordinate system. It's had me puzzled (and goofs me up at times… I have to 'think' about it 8). Thanks for the explanation. I knew it couldn't have just been an oversight <grin> – Keith

When we first started getting calls about it we thought about changing the names to UP/Down In/Out Right/Left, but that became a was when we added the ability to have local/world axis' and heierachical grouping. <–Stan

Stan — btw, where is the serial number on 3.0? –Eet–

Jim – Upgrades don't get a new serial number. Only the new folks. We should be able to do the hookup at at the end of the week. <==Stan
