Ben, I've posted this before, but I'll say it again. A Nintendo booth was set up in the mall where my mother works. The Software, Etc. that was oppposite the booth decided that enough was enough. The moved an Amiga 500 out into the mall and ran a game with a productivity package in the background. Parents would look at the Nintendo, then the Amiga, and guess which one was selling hand over fist? It's not the technical specs that sell, it's the flash (unfortunately). Brian J. Bartlett

So which DID sell? The Nintendo? Cuz the kid wanted IT, of course! Seems like there is no real product positioning in these ads, just name recognition. Hopefully there's real substance waiting out there somewhere. My impression is that there will be, that we haven't seen ALL the copy from this campaign. BTW, I received a copy of ADWEEK, in which the advertising pundits gave the Amiga TV commercial 3.5 stars out of a possible 4 for the strategic, and (they say) intelligent use of celebrities in an ad.
