Hello Amiga-Freaks I have some problems with the downloading of files. I use the programm term but no protocol works. (qb,b+,y) Who can help me ? Thanks and CIAO

Hi there, I'm having the same problems, at the moment only one of mine works but its better than none… some hints: makesure the Xpr library which supports the protocol is actually in the libs: i.e. you can select X or Y modem but if the library which supports the protocol is missing it simply aborts the down/upload. you should be able to get hold of the libs quite easily, ask the sysop. Bye the way I use Ncomm for software, and the only protocol I have which works with Compuserve is Kermit which is ancient. If you get Y modem running please drop me a line and let me know… Hey! together we can do anything, Right!

When I first used Compuserve, about a week ago, I too was using Term. I couldn't get it to DL anything either, even with the correct libs. I ended up using NComm to DL Autopilot. Big Difference!! Try it out, and I promise you won't be sorry. zzzzz….. The Sandman…..

AutoPilot v1.061, an automated CompuServe forum navigational system for the Amiga. Read messages, reply to messages, browse and mark files for download, all offline. AutoPilot requires AmigaDOS 2.04 or higher. The functional demo is available as AP.LHA in AmigaVendor library 9. Registration may be accomplished online (GO SWREG, Program ID is 246, price is US$69.95). The description above is pretty much right out of the description of AP.LHA. I have been a subscriber to CIS for several years but I have got more 'use' out of CIS in the last few weeks since I started using AutoPilot than I have in the last four years prior to using AutoPilot…. Get it! You will NOT be sorry! With AP, I am able to process many more messages for many less $$$.

I just paid for Autopilot, too. I paid because the unregistered version only allows you to access the Amiga forums. With the registered, you can use ANY forum. e.g. RPGames, Microsoft dos5.0 forum (yuck!!), anything on compuserver that is a standard forum.

Do you have TERM set for 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit? You have to have your settings for 8 bits in order to download binary (8-bit) files. —Betty

I connect up at 7-E-1 with term. When I have to download I just start the download process, and change the serial to 8-N-1 and then just select the protocol I want (B+, Kermit, etc..)
