HELP ! ! ! I asked how to get out of my opening screen which was amiga dos. I wanted to get back to my original screen with Workbench with the Ram Disk icon and the Work icon. I read the advice and typed ENDCLI and pressed RETURN. I then lost EVERYTHING ! ! ! and had a blank screen with nothing. Now I am booting with my original Workbench disk when I first turn the computer on. How do I get out of this situation? I'm creating a mess in my computer because I have no Dos manuals that tell me what to do.

Joan, From the dos window, type "LOADWB" and press return. This will load the Workbench graphical interface. After doing this, typing "ENDCLI" and pressing return will cause the original DOS window to close, leaving the Workbench interface. Normally, these commands are part of the standard "startup-sequence" command file, which is located in the "s" directory of the disk from which you are booting. I would guess that somehow you either changed or deleted this file, which is why you are not getting the desired results. You may want to consult the corresponding startup file on your original workbench disk and (most likely) copy it to your normal boot disk. Hope this helps…. – BobR (Motorola Inside!)

Joan, get some docs as per messages. At this point I would recommend re-installing the OS using the Install disk. A very simple operation – feed the disks in :-). If you want to start real clean, use the HDSetup to repartition and reformat your drive, assuming there's nothing you need to keep.
