Mike, one other find (bug?) with 3.1 in field rendering mode on the Amiga. Lets say you are moving a logo around the screen and you want to have the first and last frames on screen for a couple of seconds before you start to play and stop recording the animation. I feel the first and last frames should be rendered in frame mode so the image is not flickering back and forth on the screen. Currently I rerender the first and last frames in frame mode and then append them to the amination. Can't this be done in software? Until the Amiga version 3.1 field mode to PAR problem is corrected I am rendering to a directory on my hard drive and then importing the frames with the PAR software. Another bug I found is that the last frame renders in Impulse-24 bit format, not IFF, the rest are in ILBM format. I double checked my setup and indeed I had ILBM-24bit selected. I even tried it a couple of times with the same results. I end up reading the last frame with ADPro (which reported it to be in Impulse format) and saved it in ILBM format. Jim R. I also found the problem of the last file rendering in RGB8 format, on the PC version of the software. Now doubt that'll be fixed soon, Impulse is pretty good about fixing such things quickly. See also my message on rendering fields with Sentry and the PAR. I think I have a workaround. Jim Shields Regal Rodent Development

James, whenever I have a problem with the last frame of an amination, I simply create the anim in Action with an extra frame, render all frames, and disregard the last frame. (This solution also applies to looping animations, at least before Imagine added a "looping" button.) With regards to your current problem, simply create your animation so that the first 2 frames and last 2 frames have no motion in them. This way, the first and last frames will not flicker, regardless whether they've been field-rendered or not. Blaq!

Thanks for the tip, I'll take you up on it, however, I feel that the program should take care of it. Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ

Jim I suppose it can be done in software, but this whole thing of field mode is new to us all, or at least to Imagine, I am sure you can appreciate that we are learning right along with you. I will mention this situation to the gurus and get a response and get back to you. Mike

Thanks for looking into it and adding Field Rendering, it added a great feature to a great piece of software. Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ
