Hi, I just received a copy of 3D Studio Special Effects and noticed some small scratches on the CD. I tried viewing various images and FLC's just to see if the scratches effected anything, and wouldnt ya know it…they do. It seems to be the nrpmaps images that are effected. Is there a possibility of exchanging this for a good CD ? Thanks, Mark p.s. I was very careful in removing the CD from its pouch, just in case your wondering. 🙂

Mark, Sure. Exchanging the disk is no problem. You can call our customer service department and give them your address so they can send you a new one. The number is 800-428-5331. Also, we've run into a similar problem once that was caused by buggy display drivers. Updating to the latest Vibrant drivers solved the problem. Have you tried playing the FLC's with a stand alone FLC player? Can you copy them from the CD-ROM to your hard drive? Usually small scratches aren't a problem. It's those big 40 grit gouges that you have to worry about.<g> ____kevin

Actually, I did try viewing the images with a couple different programs and not through 3DS. Thank you for the response, I enjoy your books immensely. Mark Gillis
