"i sent in registraion for anipro and now as. never received what was promised." Edward, By now all the updates have been sent. I am not able to confirm your copy was sent – if you have questions, you can call Customer Service directly at 800/538-6401. Here's hoping you're up and running with the new 1.1.

We all hear lots of negative comments concerning various software products on online forums. I thought it might be nice to present some positive results from Autodesk. I ordered my AAStudio Update last Friday via fax. I really didn't expect to receive my update for a few weeks at least. Lo and behold, UPS dropped by today with a package. To my surprise, there was my latest version of AAStudio! Great work, guys. Now, let's hope it works as well when I load it! Tom Marlin Studios

Well, you sure are lucky! I have been registered since the end of August, and have yet to see any upgrade to AAS v.1. After a call to customer service, they said to give it another week! I don't know what their procedure is for shipments, but I am glad that some people are getting decent service. Doug

I registered my A-Studio and requested the update and the manual. I received both within a couple weeks. The update was less than a week. The printed manual was the next week. It was probably more prompt than that, but I am out of town during the week and can only get parcels on the weekend. Just thought I'd add this to the discussion.

Called last week to check status and was given the "I don't see you on the list" speech. It should be on the way now….

Nik, Why is this "free update for Animator Studio"-slogan not carried throughout the world? Immediately after I first spotted this message I contacted my dealer and they contacted the Autodesk Head Office in the Netherlands: the answer was that, even at the time I'm writing this, the upgrade is still not available in the Netherlands and Autodesk Holland is still thinking about whether or not to send it out free. The price differences between the States and Holland are bad enough as it is but I have come to accept them (reluctantly <g>) but now to be handled as a second class user: why are USA customers handled more equal than others? Is there something that can be done for me and fellow AS users here? ciao MJB

"why are USA customers handled more equal than others?" I am not sure of the answer – but in the case of Animator Studio, the meetings I have attended have made sure that parallel developments are created, so that the US builds are at the same level as the International build. We then have a few countries targeted who will take the generic international build and translate it. Their work then gets QA'd and by then there are a couple of months or so gone by. In these US-based meetings I've attended, the requests from each of the non-US Autodesks were as high a priority as anything. It might even be that "country managers" elected to not get the first AAStudio and wait. I don't recall info about Holland mentioned at these meetings though. I will pass your message on and hopefully have something to give you back in the next day or so. Nik

Nik, Thanks for the update. However, as in general I prefer the International, UK english or American english releases over a dutch translation and since both are brought on the market here in Holland, I feel to see how a trans- lation of software could stand in the way of the local Autodesk firm making the software available at the same time as in the States, especially taking into account your comment on the levels of build. Look forward to your further info, ciao MJB
