#PDC compiler

Does the Publicly Distributable C compiler (PDC) online here include
ABSOLUTELY everything necessary to write, compile, and run C programs? (I'm
asking this question because I currently have a C compiler which seems to
include everything necessary except amiga.lib. Unfortunately, without this
one file, the compiler is about 99% useless.)
Barry,
These freely distributable compilers CANNOT include amiga.lib and the
includes that you need. You need to send to Commodore for the Native
Developer's Kit ($20) which includes those. These things are copyrighted
by Commodore, and the authors of the compilers are not authorized to
distribute them.

Is the Native Developer's kit also available from dealers, or just direct
from Commodore? (I hate waiting for packages thru the mail <grin>.)
Barry,
That specific kit, is only available from Commodore; however,
commercial compiler packages include those files, along with lots of
others.
Don
The Developer's Kit is only available from CBM, but the librarian of a
local user's group tells me that he's allowed to give the includes &
Amiga.lib to members. Can't verify that since I'm not a member & don't know
CBM's policy on this, but you might want to ask around locally.
For $40 you can get the includes & Amiga.lib along with a superior compiler
from Matt Dillon, that is, by registering DICE. I did this a few months ago
and consider it the best software investment I've made for my Amiga. For
$40 you get the 3-disk DICE system + 1 free upgrade ($10 value) + up to
five mail or email notices of future releases. And when he finds a
publisher, you'll get $40 off the commercial price.
I spent a few months with PDC & Sozo-C. I erased both a few hours after
downloading the shareware version of DICE. And the registered version come
with documentation, lots and lots of documentation. Covering DICE specific
features and the standard ANSI functions & the DICE utilities.
A sided note, the December release fo DICE will be the LAST shareware
release. After that, it will only be registered or commercial.
Could you give me Matt Dillon's address, or is it somewhere online here?
Barry, it is only available from Commodore:
CATS
Commodore Business Machines
1200 Wilson Drive
West Chester, PA
R20
If you send a money order or certified check, it comes faster.
Betty
Another enthusiastic endorsement of Matt Dillon's DICE here! It is a
truly complete and professional package that is worth much more than the
registration fee (IMHO).

Could you send me Matt Dillon's address and/or phone number? I've decided
to believe the hype, but I need to contact him in order to order. Thanks,
