Maple/TeX iff file Pbms

Hello, I have a small problem I need help with:
I have a graphics image I dumped from MapleV (a mathematics program) to
an iff file I am trying to print it with AmigaTeX. The problem is the iff
file has the colors of the screen! That is, it has blue and red lines on
the graph, with white axis's (axi?) on a BLACK background. When I print
this sucker it comes out far, far too black. Setting a threshold doesn't
work. If I set it so the background isn't black, obviously the rest of the
lighter stuff won't print. Maple seems to have no facility to change the
colors, and since it took 4 hours to create, just re-creating it would
screw up the schedule.
I have Photon Paint 2.0, but I got it 5 years ago with my machine and I
have no idea how to use it. I managed to switch the black register color
with the white register color but that screwed up the axis labeling (some
of the characters dissappeared). It also still had a large black border. I
guess it needs trimming.
I guess what I want is some help in running Photon Paint or just
pointing me to a program on CIS that will help.
A postscript version of the graph Maple dumped is printing out
landscape. If anyone know how to convert that to portrait, I wouldnt need
to mess with the iff. I guess I'll ask that one in the Adobe forum.

Use Deluxe Paint to modify the image palette, or download the Post program
and use it to create a bitmap of your poasscript output. You should be able
to change the postscript settings with maples plotsetup function, but I
haven't tried this. Photon Paint is a HAM paint program and will probably
not work for this.
Well I don't have Deluxe Paint, the Post program won't shift it from
landscape to portrait and the MapleV program's plotsetup function doesn't
allow me to choose that feature. Thanks for trying to help, though.

Brian,
Go into your printer preferences & set "image" to NEGETIVE. That will
print black as white & vice versa….. may help some.
I've been curious about Maple. If I might ask, what kinds of functions
are you plotting & how do you like it?

Well, the graph is in the middle of a a document. Setting image to
NEGATIVE would reverse the text too.
Maple, plus the user library of routines, provides an enormous number of
procedures for symbolic mathematical manipulation, although some are so
esoteric that even I, with a B.S in math, have no idea what they do. But
that may say something about my B.S, though! 🙂 Anyway, I like it a lot,
but performing mathematical computation on it it NOT the same as doing it
on paper. You have to learn a new way of thinking about math.
The function was the Magnetic field strength (B) of a Helmholtz coil
arrangment (two coils of wire, sides parallel). The equation gave the field
on-axis, between the coils.

I have been using it for a couple of months. It has a very nice
programming language, well designed for mathematical programming. The
language is general purpose, but only runs (of course) in the Maple
environment. Maple certainly knows more math than I ever will. It still
has some weaknesses in the Amiga environment. You cannot make hi-res
interlaced the default plot enviroment (you have to use the mouse a select
a menu option after the plot has finished, and wait for it to redraw in
hi-res). It's console support is not up to WSHell standards, but you can
drive it from the CLI, and make up for that. I am glad that I got it, and
will be using it extensively as a self-education tool.
