I am rendering an image and saving it to disk in a compressed .TIF file. The image size is 1024 X 768. I download this file to disk and send it to an imaging center for output to a 4X5 transparency. The image looks great, only it is quite squished in the horizontal direction. Upon talking to the manager at the imaging center, I find that when he reads in the image, its dimensions are 400 X 400. Is there something I need to do, or something my image center needs to do in order to accept my image as I rendered it? He is using a Mac IIfx hooked to a Matrix film recorder. Currently, I supply the center with a second .TIF with squares and circles so that they may get the correct horiz/vert ratio for the imaging. Any help would be appreciated. Craig Sherrett Veka, Inc.

It sounds like you're probably not switching to the NULL device before rendering the image at 1024x768x1. What, exactly, are your current settings for Display, Resolution, and Aspect Ratio in the Renderer/Setup/Configg dialog? – G

craig, For what it's worth, the imaging people at the company where I work often have trouble with compressed TIFF files. All uncompressed TIFFs I've given them work fine, as do all TARGAs. I usually render 800×600 compressed TARGAs for quick overheads and hard copy. I have to specifically set the aspect ratio in 3ds to 1.0 before rendering, or the resultant image is squashed vertically. I don't know what equipment they are using. JKJ
