Has anybody used Pegger for automatically decompressing JPEG'd files for
use in single framing with the Toaster and the Personal SFC ? I'm getting
an error message (I believe it's from the Personal SFC) when I try to set
up a sequence of frames for laying to tape. Immediately after I specify
the sequence of frames, Pegger decompresses the first frame to an IFF24
format (I did specify RLE format upon compression), and, presumably when
it's finished I get the error message "Fails IFF check and may be corrupt
(the actual file length disagrees with the expected size)". Thanks.

I wondered about that. My SFC died similarly, but it choked on the JPEG
files that I had it do the conversion on the first time. Might be a bug
in the decompression scheme.
I'll ask Terry if he's at WOCA this weekend.
Do you notice much delay when using Pegger?

I talked to Terry and also to the Pegger folks. It seems that the SFC software
from about ver. 2.0 and later automatically reads JPEG files directly, so you
don't need Pegger for that. I tried it and it works fantastic. If you do want
to use Pegger, Terry says to turn off the "Verify IFF" function on the SFC
setup screen (the one that identifies the VTR you're using). I tried that, but
the SFC seemed to open every file in the sequence for some reason, so I aborted
it and went without the Pegger. Much cleaner and quicker.
