I'm new to 3DS (6 mths, approx. 24hrs a day) and cranking out some stuff I consider pretty nice. I've been working with some architectual models lately, but having trouble appyling textures to the exterior walls that look nice. My models are done in arch. program (working inside ACAD12) and DXF'd into 3DS by layer. This makes my walls a single object. My question is, is there a better way to do this? Face mapping, of course, stinks. I'm I stuck bringing in my walls as separate entities? Please tell me I don't have to do it that way, even if you're lying. Thanks, and "HI" to everyone in the forum!

>>This makes my walls a single object. That's propabably what you want. As for mapping, rotate your mapping icon 45degrees to the walls and apply it – it is now striking all sides with the same rate. Now adjust your material definition (or mapping tiling) to compensate for the stretch that occured along one axis from the rotation (.7071 as a material, 1.404 as a tiling param.) It should now work fine for ya.
