I'm trying to create a DOOM lookaloke game for the Amiga. The goal in my project is to create a version of the game that can be run on ALL Amigas. I could use some help though with the assembly language routines. In paticular I need chunky to planar routines that are written for a vanilla 68000 processor, maybe making use of the blitter. I've downloaded some routines here, but they're written for a 68020 with a math chip. Would anyone here be willing to chip in on this effort? My goal here is to prove that a DOOM type game CAN BE DONE on the Amiga. After all…they did make one for the Sega console…. Thanks, Gary

A Doom-like game can definitely be done … but I doubt if you're going to get texture mapping fast enough to be useful on a 68k.

Gary – Do searches in the libs here (or with AutoPilot) using the keyword CHUNKY, then COPPER. You should come up with eight files (one repeat). I can't remember the name of the Genesis's Doom-like game, but it was probably done with much pre-rendering. At any rate, good luck! – Jim, on AutoPilot!
