#texture map scale prob

Hi,
did some more testing with my texture scaling problem. It happens only if you
lock a brush to a state (which is essencial with bones objects).

David…I know what is causing your brush problem. Let me try to illustrate.
Default state with brush tacked to it…say brush is 100 units in the Z axis
New state, which is scaled in the Z axis .5 percent. The brush axis is now 50
units in the Z axis, yet It renders with the brush scaled at .75 percent.
Reason is this: Right now in 3.0 properties are not saved for each state.
When you scale the new state, the brush axis scales by .5 percent. Thus, it's
now 50 units in the Z axis. BUT, the brush is tacked to the Default state,
which has not been scaled. So now if you were to render the default state, the
brush would not cover it. For now, you will need to also scale the Default
state by the same amount you scaled the second new state.
Hope you can follow this. <g> I understand that in 3.1 the properties for each
state get preserved…thus avoiding this.

GreG,
I think I understand what the problem is. If it's fixed in 3.1, no problem.
I'm sure I will get it soon (Mike, when? <g>).
Would it help if I check the properties box in the states requester? I'll just
try. In the mean time I replaced the brush map with three textures, but it's
not looking as good as my brush map. I also forgot the lock it to the default
state. Now I have to re-render 600 frames… But each frame takes only 15
seconds.
thanks for the help
