Can anyone tell me an efficient way to get non-linear Truetype text from a package like CorelDraw into Renderize Live? By non-linear I mean text that has been fitted to a path. Linear text, I realize, can be easily converted in Visual Font, but trying to export non-linear text from CorelDraw (as a .DXF for instance) results in a real mess in Visual Modeler. Thusfar, the only way I can see to do this is to convert the imported polylines to polygons and then use the Solid Subtract function to remove the open areas on letters with enclosed openings (i.e. "A", "B", "D", "O", etc.). It seems to me there ought to be a more efficient means of converting these. Help, please!!! – Jeremy Kumin, Written 17-Oct-1994 @ 11:15:13 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.25

Hi Jeremy: <Can anyone tell me an efficient way to get non-linear Truetype text from a package like CorelDraw into Renderize Live?> Good question. The easiest way to do this would be to export your work from CorelDRAW! to the TrueType (TTF) file format, then use Visual Font to extrude and bevel. I'll upload the detailed information to our library section, it should help you through this multi-step process. BTW, Renderize Live 3.2, scheduled for shipment before the end of the year, will import and extrude AI files directly, to the CorelDRAW-to-Renderize Live connection will be even tighter. I hope this information proves useful. Let me know. Best regards, Nick Josephs Visual Software
