Hi all This may not be the right place to ask this but what the h***. I need to get hold of Satellite Images of Southern Egypt (including Lake Nasser), preferably clear sky and preferably taken during September and December (any year within the last 5). I'm not sure if this sort of info is available on Compuserve, but I'm looking everywhere. any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. John Gabriel (London)

John, You should contact a company in the US by the name of EOSAT. They carry a wide range of Landsat imagery. I believe that they are located in the Washington DC area. I do not have a phone number. Good Luck, Paul BTW, this stuff is quite expensive!

The University of Dundee has a large collect of satellite images. While I was stationed in the Scotland for the US Navy I attended a Ministry of Defense course on Remote Sensors Air, Sea, and Land. Very good course and the University took great pride in its setup. If it is not to far a drive you might want to go up and look at the "quick scans" of the NOAA images they have for review. Cloud cover or other problems may make a pass worthless for your use so the quick scans save you money on the down loads. Contact Point: Professor A.P. John, Can't tell you where or what the addresses are (haven't looked for them myself), but there probably are some available on Compuserve. They certainly are available on the Internet. I know there is access to NASA and the US. Geological Survey as well as other databases with satellite images. Here are a couple Internet addresses: European Space Agency: Telnet: esrin.esa.it NASA databases: Gopher: Yale University: yaleinfo.yale.edu (choose Internet Resources, Miscellaneous resources, NASA) There also is a CD-ROM called Small Blue Planet that is a collection of satellite images of earth. It must have at least a few covering your area of interest, it supposedly has "hundreds of glorious satellite images of our planet." It is available from a company called Now What Software (I have not phone or address for them). Good Luck. Lanny

John — You could check and see if the EROS Data Center has what you need. They are sort of the repository for US satellite and aerial photos. Their stuff should be cheaper than the private companies. They are located in Sioux Falls, SD – (605) 594-6151 — Bill
