#Help! PDrawToPgS.rexx

Hi There! I was copying a bunch of ProDraw clips to PageStream3.0 and thought… "This is a job for AREXX!" Trouble is…. I don't know "Jack" about AREXX! The guys at SoftLogik are obviously busy now, so I thought "How hard could it be???" Harder than I thought. Here is as far as I got, I looked up the appropriate commands in the manuals and typed them in. The first line works! The last line is from the PgS macro generator and should be O.K. too. What am I missing??? Should I forget it for now and spend a few months learning Arexx? (Nah) Anyone want to take a shot at it? I'm sure a few other people would find it handy. Andre, A few suggestions to improve your REXX life: When in doubt, turn on tracing. (Just put a TRACE R instruction near the beginning of your program) Enclose command names in quotes, so that no accidental variable substitution takes place. Enclose file names in quotes (A colon in a device spec will look like a label definition to Arexx.) If you're posting an example program here on Compuserve, put some leading spaces in the lines to defeat the autoformatter here. Hope this helps … -Bill

Andre, A couple of ARexx books you might want to look for: "Using ARexx on the Amiga" by Zamara and Sullivan or "The ARexx Cookbook" by Merrill Callaway. Not sure where you should look, given the scarcity of Amiga dealers these days … -Bill

(The name sounds familiar!) Not surprising. William Hawes is the creator of ARexx. So he did the software, and the original manual. –Jim
