I tried out FLI100.SIT and Some strange things happened. I only tried out three flics.. One worked find, although it was quite slow. The second one worked, except the palette was turned to all grey and looked really bad. The third one, got a bad chunk error in the fourth frame. Anyone else tried it? Got it to work properly? Know what my problem is?

what were your three flics? I played with it a couple of times and didn't have any problem with it. tony

My first flic was the Birdy.fli that came with 3ds. That worked fine, although slow. The second one was one I made using the cow mesh file from the 3dstudio library here. That one loaded fine and played fine, except the palette went all ugly greyish colours. The third one was the heart 3ds mesh file that I rendered (also found in the 3ds library). This one stopped at frame 4 and gave me a bad chunk error. Any ideas?

I beat on it for quite a while and found the following: 1. It doesn't stream FLIs from disk but loads them in for processing. On a 5MB Mac II CI running no other tasks under System 7 the largest FLI we could load was 1.02MB. 2. It is definately slow, much slower than I expected but it worked. On FLIs with minimal delta, such as our ICL_16, the animation played at full speed. 3. I encountered exactly the same palette trashing that you mention on about 1/2 of the FLIs I loaded but never got the bad chunk error. How did you port the FLIs? Maclink? SuperDrive? I was reading them of our CD-ROM with no problems at all.

Yeah, that's one thing I noticed, it's REAL slow.. What do you mean by "minimal delta"? I converted the flics using apple file exchange on a mac classic with a superdrive. Then I ran them on a IICI, IICX, and I think one other II-something. I get the same results on all of them. Were all the flics you loaded off CD ROM? Maybe they have to be saved in a special way or something <???>.
