You do NOT have to use Emacs you know. You can always use your favorite
editor, save the file and just compile it from CLI, like you do with any
other compiler.

Yes, I know. BUT, part of the reason I wanted to give Benchmark a try was
because of it's Turbo Pascal-like environment so using my favorite editor
(uEdit) would have defeated the purpose. I could have always redefined the
keydefs in the version of Emacs that Leon provided. I didn't have the time
at the time, but may give it a shot in the future (if/when I reclaim the
compiler from Erv). I've read several Mod-2 books from cover to cover and
done some simple (under 100 line) programs. I just find that M2 and I don't
get along. Maybe I'll try writing a non-trivial app in M2 to give it a fair
shot.
