Thanks for the reply! I wonder if using and synching the internal
voices will be possible if the program doesn't have that built it. New Wave
wasn't able to get Dynamic Drums to synch with any other program (they have a
sequencer with DD built in now).
Interesting about the clock resolution. Like everybody else, I want
to shift notes a few milliseconds around the beat and 384 ticks would be
pretty good resolution at faster tempos…but if you can't go past 96 ticks
hen toss the "feel factor" out.
Do you know if both programs can be controlled from an external
clock? I'll probably be using a sync tone from tape.
Also, how ugly is the copy-protection on KCS?

I repeat, I don't have my Music-X yet, so cannot comment on that program.
KCS can be driven from either the internal clock, a "dumb" external MIDI
clock, or external MIDI clock with song position pointer.
I'd imagine the KCS CP is the same as it is on Caged Artist's patch editors:
a bad sector or track that the program looks for. If this is the case, you
can copy the needed (good) files over to a backup disk, and just insert the
master during boot, ala key disk. My only CP complaint against the Caged
Artist stuff i is if you try to bypass it or accidently name the backup disk
the wrong thing, the CP doesn't just refuse to load… it crashes the
machine. Dumb.
