Tom It could be a couple of things. If your monitor is a 1084, I have found the solder joints on the flyback transformer an crack and cause an intermittant outage. Another possibility is the 8520 chips. It depends on how comfortable you are working on your machine. If you want to try swap your 8520 chips, or try the monitor on another machine. Tim

Tim, Thanks for the suggestions. My monitor is a 2080. It sounds as if it will not be affected by my planned upgrade so I'll look into your suggestions and let you know how it comes out. Thanks again, Tom Stevens
