Hi, Aleskey! I downloaded both Camera Mapping working Demo and sample FLI. Very impressive! You mentioned it's possible to do refraction with it. How? Bill, HIC

Hi, Bill! >You mentioned it's possible to do refraction with it. How? 1. To get permanent solution for Refraction under 3DS wait for our Refraction Mapping IPAS (AXP + SXP + PXP + KXP), which is part of our upcoming MERCATOR Mapping Atlas. It's not going to be very long wait: allow 6-8 weeks + hype + tax – tax return (certain restrictions apply) = realictically speaking, it'll be ready by the end of February (95, of course). 2. Meanwhile try (as Gary Yost suggests) the following: use Camera Mapping as usual, but for the texture take background map, blur it a little, tint and use it as a reflection map as well – you should quite convincing immitation (I, personally, liked it). Regards, Alex, Video International P.S. Refraction is just side effect for Camera Mapping. CM was created primeraly as a Camouflage and Clean Substitution effect… P.P.S. Where are you anyway?

Im very interested in refraction mapping. Perhaps you could upload some examples when its working. How about a glass half full of water? or is it half empty?

Hi, Edward! >>Perhaps you could upload some examples when its working. How about a glass half full of water? >>or is it half empty? Sure, it is half full, and Refraction Mapping IPAS is half ready. As soon as it get to the stage to be capable of rendering anything, I will post samples (give us 4-6 weeks)… As of now it renders just glass with no water 🙂 Regards, Alex, Video International
