Nec 3D and FlickerFixer
2 messages in this thread
Hi,
I'am wondering if anybody has had trouble with the NEC Multisync 3D hooked
up to the FlickerFixer. I just bought a 3D and it seems to be brighter on
the right side than the left. Has anybody had this problem with the NEC 3D
or could this be a problem with this combination. I had the FlickerFixer
hooked up to a Nec Multisync II at first and it did not have that problem.
Could this be a problem with the Nec 3D ?

Judd,
Just a guess, but I'd say that the Nec 3D has become slightly "impure";
that is, the beams are not hitting the shadow mask precisely in the darker
area. If the monitor is sitting next to something with a magnetic field,
separate them. I'm not familiar with the 3d's degaussing circuit; try
cycling the power once every 10 minutes for awhile if it doesn't have a
manual degauss button. Rotating the display will also "give away" slight
purity shifts. A standard TV degaussing ring is very handy in this case,
but few people have them.
