I am interested in doing home video productions. I am seriously looking
into a digitier and possibly a genlock. Out of both these products which
product is top in its class? Using a low price and godd quality for
guidelines.I hear Digi-view, for a digitizer, and Amigen for a genlock are
two top products for each.
Also i have a question about a digitizer. Can 1 picture created by a
digitizer be displayed in another digitized picture? Let me make this more
clear. could I use a digitized picture of someones head and display it on
another digitized picture of someones body? Or would I need to buy a helping
video program such as the director, the butcher, etc.?

Digi-View makes nice pictures from a good monochrome camera… it takes 3
passes for color. For each pass you place a red, green or blue filter in
the optical path to separate the primary color components. Digitizing
takes several seconds, depending on rez modes, etc. The Live! digitizer is
a "real-time" unit which can grab a frame of video on the fly. The Live!
unit costs more than DigiView, though….. On the picture compositing you
speak of… if they don't have to move, you can save both digitized pics to
disk and pull them into your favorite paint program to cut & paste the body
parts (brrr!) together….. j

had some problems with their Amigen Genlock, but thay have/are working it
out. Digital Creations' SuperGen is better than the Amigen from what I
understand, but it's price is rather high. You can mix and match images
with no problem, providing you have a Paint package to do it with.
