Don't get it

Thanks for your message (#2177) and for the encouragement. After reading some
other messages on VisSoft's board I realized we're not the only ones to whom
the software does not come naturally. Notice also Sysop Nick Joseph's message
which says "Renderize Live can be a bit daunting at first glance …". For me,
it's still daunting at tenth glance. I guess you're right – it's just a matter
of keeping at it until something clicks.
My real hurdle is understanding the wells, the nine function buttons, the
"view" icons under them, and when and how to use each. I have found myself at
a screen only to realize it was necessary to back out to another screen and
having no idea whatsoever as to how to get back to where I am supposed to be.
I end up saving everything, selecting "new," and starting over.
On your note about the forum which might give us more help – following is a
listing of the Vendor A Forum opening message, which might be the one you
referred to – except it seems to put the ball back in the vendor lap. Here it
is:
"Welcome to the Animation Vendor A Forum!
Members are encouraged to support the Association of Shareware Professionals
and the Shareware Concept.
THE FOCUS OF this forum is to offer technical support for the software,
hardware and service companies represented here. We ask that discussions
unrelated to technical support issues be handled in our Graphics Support Forum
(GO GRAPHSUP) in the appropriate message section, or via CompuServe mail when
appropriate.
PLEASE SEND MESSAGES requesting support directly to the User IDs below, in the
appropriate section, rather than to SYSOP or *SYSOP. We have to manually
reroute any messages not directed to the proper IDs, which can delay response
to your problem.
USE PUBLIC MESSAGES rather than Mail whenever possible; you can receive a more
informed response from the many product users and vendor reps who are here, and
your public question can help those who have like problems.
YOU CAN GET support directly from the following companies through their
representatives, who are also listed here:
01 New Animation Vendors (various)
02 Hash, Inc. Steven Sappington [74431,3563] GO HASH
03 Impulse Mike Halvorson [72662,3330] GO IMPULSE
04 Byte By Byte Scott Peterson [74431,3462] GO BYTEBYBYTE
05 Visual Software Nick Josephs [74431,3611] GO VISSOFT
PLEASE NOTE THAT each of our Libraries, Message Sections and Conference Rooms
are organized by the product vendors."
Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I'm 75014,1122 but I'm not Jinny Davis. I got a message that you sent to her
her but somehow my ID was used.
Rob –
Sorry – guess I goofed. Just delete it. I'll send to Jinny again. The ID I
used was definitely the wrong ID. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi George: I got your latest note…will answer it as soon as I send up
this.
Thanks for resending.
I'm working on the tutorials now, and am liking the program better…

I never ran the tutorials. Maybe that's why I didn't have as many troubles
with the program?

Mark: Is that a nannna nanna naa nna? 😀 Ok, I've only done the
first one so far, because I HATE reading manuals…!
I have a question… (even looked in the manual) when I position
a spotlight, is it active when it's blue or yellow… (I'm cringing
even as I ask this…)
Jinny
> Mark: Is that a nannna nanna naa nna?<
Nope, I just cannot stand tutorials. I ran across a pile of manuals
for an operating system the other day. About 12 books, and the only one still
in the shrink wrap was the one marked: "READ ME FIRST!"
> when I position a spotlight, is it active when it's blue or yellow?<
I'm afraid I'd have to run it to see, and I've had to temporarily pull
most of my rendering software off the computer to make room for some other
software I'm reviewing. Sorry.
Make it one color, smack the center button,

and see if it moves. If not, try it when it's the other color. Good luck!
Keep at it.

Hi Jinny:
A light appears blue in the viewport when it is shining toward you in the
current 2D view. Eg, if you are in the "Top" view and the light is pointing
"up", the light vector will appear in blue. If you re-target that light so
that it now points down, the light vector now changes to yellow, meaning tha
tthe light is shining away from you in the current orthographic view.
Nick: Thanks… appreciate it… the light dawns, so to
speak…

Sorry about that Rob… but I think it's all straight now…
