Hello Cyberspace

If anyone out there using cyberspace has time for a couple questions please
email me!
Currently, I am an 3DS animator/production manager for Nabisco's
Computer Based Training department. We are looking at using VR in
the future for CBT. We consider it an natural evolution of media
delivery. The problem we are faced with is the choice of platform.
I have seen superscape on a pentium 90 perform to the level we will
require initially. As of yet, I have never seen Cyberspace.
The Questions!
In the areas of features and performance, how does Cyberspace compare to
Superscape?
How complicated is the developement in Cyberspace?
Etc. …. ?
CBT? Computer-based Triscuits?

Funny, So Funny!!
Hey, in six months we will have VR triscuits. They're low fat, but not very
filling!
Actually, You would be amazed at the amount of Computer Based Training we
produce in house and the client base we service out of house. I'm currently
researching PC VR delivery platforms as a natural evolution of training media.
Any suggestions you would be appreciated!
Scott
Hi Scott
I was browsing around ASOFT forum, reading the message traffic. I've got a
"high-tech" (ha!ha!) ad agency in Monterey, CA. Anyway, we use 3DS and have an
inhouse video department, including sound stage, Matrox video editing, etc. We
run 3DS on Pentiums and render to a Targa card, single-frame record via
Animation Commander/RS422 card to a JVC822 VTR.
We're pretty up on Intel machines. I've build every one of them here. They're
all SCSI-based, Adaptec, etc,etc.
I'd like to play with the VR stuff some. What's the story on the best rig these
days? whose software? Autodesk or the Sense8 products (former Autodesk'ers).
What kind of video cards should I use.
Anything interesting our there that's shareware or downloadable.
If you get a minute sometime, drop me an email, or call or fax. Thanks. Good
luck in your projects.

Tom,
I apologize for the delay in this reply! I haven't had a chance to get on CIS
in two weeks! I'll call you this week and discuss platform we chose and why.
Maybe it will help you!

Hi Scott. Picked up your note about "Call you and discuss why we picked
Cyberspace". Please do (408) 655-2772.
Hey, we have an inhouse video dept at my office, and I'm thinking of starting a
Virtual Reality-Video Magazine, making 3 or 4 tapes a year and selling
subscriptions. I'm in Monterey, CA and silicon valley where lots of VR is is
only 80 miles up the road. Anyway, I'll look forward to chatting with you.
